Each weekly winner returns for the 6 week shootout. All the winners of the Shootouts will return for the Yearly competition where we will crown the king/queen of The Jest Joust Comedy Calamity Joke Lab.
****Each week a premise is put here on the first page of the website for comics to write 7 minutes on.
****Each weekly performer gets 7 minutes of stage time.
****Judges and audience votes determine the weekly winner.
****Winner announced directly after the show each week.
The six week Shootout:
The 6 weekly winners will compete at the 6 week shootout competition on every 7th Monday.
****The Shootout is FREESTYLE !! Comics can bring there best set to the shootout.
****Stage time for the Shootout is 10 MINUTES !!!!****
****Cash prize for the 6 week shootout is $200 and photo shoot with a professional. (Comedians must be present to receive winnings at end of show)
****The show is filmed and recorded for social media post YouTube the website and podcast audio only sites.

WEEK 1: NEWBORN NONSENSE 👶
🍼 "Welcome to the World, Joke Baby!"
Comics perform as if just born—gibberish bits, baby logic, milk-drunk punchlines. Bonus points for pacifiers, onesies, or performing in a diaper.
WEEK 2: TODDLER TANTRUMS 😫
🚼 "Mine! No! Poop!"
Comics tap into chaotic toddler energy. Jokes about irrational fears, first words, and how juice boxes are a currency of power.
WEEK 3: AWKWARD ELEMENTARY 🏫
📚 "Crushes, bullies, and snack trades."
Sets must explore playground trauma, awkward school moments, and early crushes. Bring your lunchbox and emotional baggage.
WEEK 4: HORMONAL HORRORS 🧑🎤
🎸 "Puberty: The Roast Begins."
Your character is now a confused teen. Voice cracking? Pimples? Uncontrollable urges? Comics dive into puberty chaos with angsty flair.
WEEK 5: COLLEGE CHAOS 🎓
🍻 "Majoring in Jokes. Minoring in Debt."
Frat party energy, ramen diet complaints, and weird roommate stories rule the mic. Bonus points for performing while “drunk on ideas.”

Now an adultish human, Your character is questioning everything. Comics explore identity crises, job fails, therapy, and Tinder disasters.

The character now buys in. Comics parody adulting, PTA meetings, office parties, and secretly wanting to die inside at IKEA.

Life’s unraveling. Comics embrace chaotic reinvention—ayahuasca, divorce, becoming a DJ. Full midlife spiral energy.
WEEK 9: ELDER RAGE 🪑
🧠 "Get off my lawn, and bring me a Werther’s." Your character is an
Old man/woman rants at the clouds. Comics perform as cranky, wise, or wildly confused elders. Bonus for dentures or exaggerated 'back in my day' tales.
WEEK 10: THE DEATH SET ⚰️
🪦 "The Light at the End of the Mic."
Your character dies. Comics give their “last set,” say farewell, or perform as if moments before death. Bittersweet, absurd, existential, or hilarious send-offs.
WEEK 11: GHOST SET 👻
💨 "Boo, Bitch. I'm Back."
Your character returns as a ghost comic. Performers must use ghostly voices, floaty movements, and tell jokes from the afterlife’s perspective.
WEEK 12: THE FUNERAL FINALE 🎺
🪦 "The Funeral Roast of your character."
A full mock funeral with comedians in black, a fake coffin, and comics giving eulogies, roast sets, and callbacks to all 11 prior weeks.
Finalists perform as past versions of their character, now ghosts, or even as Death itself.
Winner of "The Jest Fest Showdown" will receive a cash prize.

Hosted by the one and only Happy Bones Jones of Augusta, GA. performing as a singer/songwriter, artist and entertainer for over 30 years. Happy started doing stand-up comedy in 2019 and fell in love with it focusing most of his energy into developing "The Jest Joust Comedy Calamity" comedy show. He's out of his mind and funny as hell.
